scenes from Independence Day celebration, Laoag

I can't remember the last time there was a parade to celebrate Philippine Independence Day in Laoag City. Today's celebration in both the Provincial Capitol and City Hall was highlighted with speeches and wreath laying. The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte however also doled out seedlings and fingerlings, and is also holding a medical mission today at the Provincial Auditorium. I forgot to ask City Hall what other activities they have today though.

Photo Tip:
Photojournalists are known for getting to their assignments/location early. When searching for a story though, they are already out and about at the crack of dawn, before most people get to work so that they can beat traffic, get interviews, and scout the shooting locations.
